A regionally-based collaboration to regenerate soil, build farmer prosperity & boost vitality in the Delta, starting with rice.
Building Resiliency and Regeneration by Engaging Regional Supply Webs
Delta Regen Rice+ is engaging stakeholders throughout the rice supply chain, including the philanthropic sector, to design and implement pilot projects that accelerate market development and sustainable agricultural practices. With seed funding from Woka Foundation and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF), we are enrolling rice farmers clustered in different growing regions into SCI’s program, supporting their transition to regenerative agriculture and reducing methane emissions.
Our initial goal is to enroll at least 50,000 acres in the program by 2028, and create a strong foundation for collaborative farm, market, and food systems in the Delta South built around regenerative agriculture, nutrient density, and farm prosperity.
Join us for the official launch of Delta Regen Rice+, a regionally based collaboration to regenerate soil, build farmer prosperity & boost vitality in the Delta.
The two-day launch includes a Regen Rice Field Day co-hosted by SCI and the AR Soil Health Alliance, and a market development working session where we’ll convene farmers, processors and buyers to identify opportunities, challenges, and key action priorities.

Upper Midwest Rotational Crops
We are driving agricultural transformation across the Upper Midwest, supporting 30+ early- to middle-adopter farmers stewarding over 23,000 acres of regenerative farmland in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin.
SCI's pre-competitive working group, launched in Minneapolis in 2024, unites over 20 stakeholders—including farmers, processors, buyers, brands, and experts—to accelerate market development for rotational crops while providing comprehensive support through technical assistance, soil testing, field demonstrations, and access to flexible funding through its Farm Transition Fund and Regenerative Finance Hub, which has already secured over $1M in tailored financial solutions since 2024.
Mississippi Delta Regenerative Rice
We are launching innovative work in the Mississippi Delta region, investing in farm-level transition to build a comprehensive regenerative rice production program across America's most significant rice-growing landscape.
Working with a core group of farmer-advisors and partnering with an established mill experienced in regenerative rice processing, we are building both supply and demand for regenerative rice across this crucial agricultural region that represents approximately 80% of U.S. rice production. Through SCI's farmer-centered approach, participating producers receive individualized guidance, technical assistance, peer network connections, and access to premium markets.
High Plains Wheat
We are bolstering resilient production across the High Plains through our regenerative wheat program, where farmers are managing over 12,000 acres annually amid challenging drought conditions.
Our collaborative multi-stakeholder network has convened over 40 participants spanning the entire supply chain—from farmers and processors to national flour mills and consumer packaged goods companies—to develop resilient wheat production systems adapted to the region's water scarcity challenges. This work addresses the critical balance between establishing ground cover and conserving moisture, with SCI and its soil health verification framework providing the foundation for supply chain alignment and consumer confidence. Through strategic partnerships, SCI is creating premium market opportunities not only for regeneratively-grown wheat but also for rotational crops essential to soil health, including sorghum and camelina.
