Hi, from the Field!

Excerpt from ‘The Dirt’: SCI’s Monthly Farmer Newsletter

I’m writing in from the road where I’ll be for eight weeks this summer visiting SCI farms all over North America.

The first part of my tour was in Kansas wheat country before heading to see pasture poultry farms in Kentucky. Right now, I’m in Cotton Plant, Arkansas for the Farm Hard field day and then I'll be making my way through the upper Midwest for Tom Cotter’s field day at the Soil & Climate Alliance Network Meeting.

It’s hard to put into words the meaningfulness and impact of spending time with farmers on their land. It allows me to listen and learn – how people live and farm, their perspective on “regenerative agriculture” (and life in general), and how SCI can best be a resource and offer support that is truly useful.

It’s hard to put into words the meaningfulness and impact of spending time with farmers on their land. Thank you to each of you that have taken the time to host me, and for those of you I haven’t been able to visit just yet, I hope to get there before too long.

Reminder to all SCI farmers: Our monthly Farm Office Hours will take place every last Thursday of the month at 4pm ET.
